How Do Commercial HVAC Systems Work?

Your HVAC system consists of different components, but the main ones include thermostat, heat exchanger, evaporator coil, ductwork and vents, refrigerant lines, condensing unit, and furnace.

As you already know, there are three different processes involved in temperature control: Heating, Ventilation, and air conditioning.

Our heating services process starts once the thermostat sends signals to a furnace, indicating the temperature and humidity levels in your business spaces have dropped or increased above the ideal temperature. Thermostats can be programmed or manually adjusted.

Furnaces use different heat sources, such as gaseous fuel, electrical energy, and solar energy.

If a furnace is powered by gas, for example, a gas valve will open and then ignite a series of burners, which generate heat for heating the system’s heat exchanger. As for furnaces using electricity, they have conductive coils instead of burners.

Air sucked into the exchanger is warmed and distributed within your building through ductwork and vents using a blower.

Ventilation works by getting rid of stale air in commercial spaces and then replacing it with the right amount of fresh air in a more controlled manner. Otherwise, you would experience unpleasant odors and reduced indoor air quality despite the heating and cooling process taking place.

There are refrigerant lines in a typical HVAC system, which carry compressed gas to the condensing unit, where it’s transformed into a more cooling liquid before being released to the evaporator coil.

The evaporator coil is located in the blower compartment. It helps hold the chilled refrigerant that removes heat from the air circulated by the blower. The cooler air is then channeled to your commercial space.

Benefits of Commercial HVAC Systems

A reliable HVAC system will maintain appropriate room temperatures, reducing potential distractions for employees. A comfortable environment can even boost employee morale. This is an excellent way of increasing productivity levels.

Indoor air quality issues subject you and your employees to health problems, which can lead to increased absenteeism. Our HVAC services maintain not only consistent temperatures but also promotes indoor air quality.

Technology has blessed us with smart HVAC systems, which offer the best return on investment while being environmentally friendly. You’ll enjoy lower energy bills as long as you follow the manufacturer’s regular maintenance guidelines and perform necessary repairs.
